Marcus Okonkwo spent seven years as a pricing and revenue-management analyst at one of the largest online travel agencies before transitioning to editorial work. His insider perspective on wholesale rates, consortia pricing, and the mechanics of hotel distribution forms the backbone of his reporting for The Travel Club.
He holds an M.Sc. in Economics from LSE and writes regularly on the economics of travel — how hotels actually price rooms, why OTA rates almost never match the cheapest available rate, and what members of closed-channel programs really pay vs. what the public pays.
Marcus lives between London and Lagos, and when he's not writing about hotel economics, he's usually photographing West African architecture.
